Rest . . . doesn't that sound almost heavenly, like a lovely whisper?  I love how, in the photo above, the hammock is in sight, but off in the distance.  Isn't that how many people regard the concept of rest?  It's so inviting, and we'd like to partake, but we often allow too many obstacles between us and that "hammock."

"Rest" is the theme this month, partly because this is the final issue of Wow Connect! before a summer break, and partly as a reminder to us all to take a break from something this summer!  Whatever happened to "the lazy days of summer?"  In our family, we look forward to a break from school and some of the school year activities winding down, yet it seems easy to fill up that time of rest with other activities and end up maybe not feeling as refreshed as we should when all those school year activities/ministries start up again.  I know we're not the only ones, based on comments I often hear from others.

It's something to think about, and hopefully we'll all be intentional about finding time for regular, refreshing rest, which means different things to different people.

As for WoW Connect!, perhaps there will be some updates here and there throughout the summer, but we won't be back in full swing until probably October.  Looking back over our first year in existence, it has been such a joy for us to minister to women via the internet.  From comments we have heard, our purpose--to encourage women and girls in the often-difficult holiday and winter months--has been accomplished, thanks to God's faithfulness.  This site has had hits from all over the world!  However you have found us, we hope what you have read here has assured you that God is real, that He truly cares for You and that a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ, is life-changing and the true source of genuine joy.

Many heart-felt thank-yous to Jen Nofziger for her awesome book reviews, Diana Gipson for conducting thought-provoking interviews, and to all the ladies who shared their hearts and lives in our Life Stories column.  Thanks to Kimberly Hayes as well for heading up the Women of Worth ministry and encouraging our efforts in this blog.  We are also grateful to our readers, who inspire us to keep going. :)

While you're here, you'll want to read the inspiring Life Story of Barb Guthrie, encouragement from God's Word in At His Feet and, of course, Jen's amusing and informative book review in Coffee and a Book.  Click on the tabs above for our other columns.

Now . . . go find a hammock! ;)
